Watercolor building
This is a 5" x 7" painting of a building at Terrace Park in Sioux Falls. As always I painted the light colors first. I especially enjoyed painting the bricks in this building. They were all very old and different shapes. I am going to paint more pictures of Terrace Park.

Watercolor & Ink Koi Fish
This watercolor painting is a very small one. Only 4" x 6". I sketched the koi fish in pencil, then went over my pencil with permanent pen. I painted the whole picture wet on wet. I only used 4 colors blue, green, orange & yellow. I painted the background first, then the fish. I am very happy with the way this little painting turned out!

Watercolor & Ink McKennan Park Bandshell
This is a 6" x 9" Watercolor & Ink painting of the McKennan Park Bandshell in Sioux Falls. I started picture by painting the bandshell first because the bandshell was the lightest color in the picture. I did a wet on wet wash for the blue sky. I painted the tree on dry, the grass I painted wet on wet. I am happy with this picture.
Watercolor Flowers
For this little watercolor painting (5" x 7") I sketched the flowers and the flower pots, then went over the sketch with permanent ink. After a yellow & orange wash for the background, I painted the flowers and pots wet on wet. I painted the stems of the flowers green on dry paper. I am happy with the way this little painting turned out.

I think that they were both Great Finds!!!!
Watercolor Funky Chicken
Right off the top I am going to tell you that I like chickens!!! This Funky Chicken is framed and hanging on my kitchen wall. It is a small 5" x 7" painting. I painted the background first, because it is the lightest part of my painting. Backgrounds are usually always the lightest areas in my paintings. I mixed green and blue to get the color for my chicken, then I painted black dots on the body. I added stars, and the words bon appetite. I am very happy with this painting :)

Watercolor & Ink Dragonfly
This is the smallest painting that I have ever made. It will fit into a 4" x 4" frame. First I sketched the dragonfly, and lily pad. I outlined the dragonfly with permanent pen, and painted it purple & blue. I painted the lily pad green, and the water a little darker blue. Dragonfly's symbolize change. Change is never easy...you fight to hold on, and you fight to let go.

Watercolor Summer Gypsy
I got a new set of Winsor & Newton watercolor paints. I took the Summer Gypsy class with Willowing. I wanted to paint the Summer Gypsy again, this would also give me a chance to try out my new Winsor & Newton watercolor paints. I painted the Summer Gypsy again, and like her better then the first one that I painted. This one is 5" x 7". Most of my paintings are 5" x 7" or 6" x 8". I do better with this size painting then with large ones. I know that I will paint this Summer gypsy again, and again, and again until I get her right.

Watercolor Funky Bird
I had so much FUN painting this Funky bird!!!
I sketched out the bird, then decided I needed to add a few flowers to the drawing.
To much empty space, so I added 3 cute little flowers. I knew that I wanted to stamp something at the top of the painting so I left the top blank. I painted the background first, because that was the lightest part of my painting. I painted my bird and my flowers. When I finished painting the bird and flowers I flicked paint all over the painting. I only used 4 colors on this painting. Crimson Red, Vermillon, Deep Yellow, & Viridian. Next I outlined the bid and flowers, adding a couple of little doodles. At the top I used a stamp for the words Birds of a feather. I like my Funky bird!

Watercolor Cat
I knew that I wanted to draw a cat with a bird sitting on it's tail. After I drew the cat, I decided that it was a girl cat and gave her a crown. She then became a Queen Cat, with a Beautiful purple crown. I found a Mark Twain quote that fit perfectly with my cat. "The man who carries a cat by the tail, learns something he can learn in no other way". I decided to paint my Queen with Inktense colored pencils. I used a watercolor green for the background in my little painting. I am very happy with the way that this painting turned out:)

Watercolor & Ink
I drew the little bird houses and birds, then went over them with permanent pen. I painted the bird houses and birds with Inktense pencils. I used a Rub on for the words. I painted the background with watercolor paint. I punched the flowers and butterflies out of an old watercolor painting. I thought that the color of the flowers and butterflies when well with the painting. I glued them onto the painting. I am going to write a letter on the back of the painting and send it to a friend. The painting measures 6" x 8".
Zentangle Rooster
I used a stencil to draw the Rooster. I also used a stencil for the lettering. I used watercolor paper. I made it 5" x 7". I Zentangled the rooster, and colored it with colored pencils. It is hanging in my kitchen now. I Love it!
